Community

Winning at every level

Although we serve clients from all over the UK and overseas, Roxburgh Milkins is committed to supporting the community and businesses where we are located.

The Bristol and Bath region is a vibrant place to do business. It is home to businesses and universities with excellent reputations and the region is recognised for having expertise in many fields such as aerospace, defence, media and microelectronics.

Our support

We are privileged to act for many local businesses which are innovative and excel and are committed to supporting them and the local community. Our support takes the following forms:

  • support for the local enterprise agency, BRAVE (formerly The Bristol and Avon Enterprise Agency), where Bruce has been a non-executive director for over ten years.
  • sponsoring the biz ideas competition at the University of the West of England (UWE). This is an exciting annual competition for students and graduates of UWE to put forward their ideas for new businesses.
  • acting as experts for the take the plunge events organised by The Working Knowledge Group, an initiative which aims to bridge the gap between education and the workplace.
  • mentoring and support.  As an established form with a reputation for successful contribution, we regard ourselves as more than simply providers as legal advice.  In offering whatever support we can, our partners are keen mentors, both formally (such as pannel reviews at local incubators and ) and informally.

“The University of the West of England is also grateful to Roxburgh Milkins for their support of the BizIdea competition where budding entrepreneurs compete for a cash prize and business support package to launch their business ideas. Roxburgh Milkins bring a wealth of expertise in reviewing business plans and judging presentations of entrants each year. Over the last year several have taken up residence in UWE Ventures and have continued to benefit from their input.” Kim Jones, UWE Ventures
