I am an intellectual property lawyer and I specialise in advising clients on a wide range of technology related issues.
I trained at Pinsent Curtis before moving to Wragge & Co. I then decided to leave my Midlands homeland and move to the Southwest. I worked at Osborne Clarke for 7 years before joining Roxburgh Milkins in 2007.
I head up our commercial team. I advise both providers and users of technology and digital services (which hopefully gives me some perspective!). I also advise on general commercial contracts and data protection. Examples of some of my recent work include:
- advising XMOS Limited on IP licensing and chip manufacturing agreements
- negotiating app development contracts for Instant Business Limited
- negotiating the purchase of a new e-commerce website for Stanley Gibbons Plc
- advising Rebellion on its games that are available on social media platforms such as Facebook
I have been acting for many of my clients for the last 10 years. I like to try and build these longer term relationships as it means I can give properly useful advice. I become part of the client’s team and get to understand the way they do business, which means contract negotiations are more effective.
Outside of work I’m kept pretty busy by my 2 young girls. If I do get to play on my own, I enjoy cycling (not just as an excuse to wear lycra) and snowboarding.
