An experienced legal all-rounder, Jo plays a vital supporting role working alongside our corporate and commercial partners.

Background: After qualifying at Eversheds in 2000, and working in their commercial department, Jo then went to join the commercial department at Osborne Clarke. From there she spent 11 years working in the in-house legal team at Future, latterly heading it up.

In practice: Jo has advised on commercial contracts for many years, including in the areas of procurement, IT, distribution, licensing and the varied aspects of print and digital publishing. Jo was the Data Protection Officer of Future during her time there, dealing with drafting and implementing policies and procedures in line with the regulatory requirements, as well as deal with day to day data issues. Jo also has experience in intellectual property. Her time as an in-house lawyer ensures that she concentrates on the real issues when dealing with commercial contracts.

In her own words: "I have worked with Roxburgh Milkins on contracts in a variety of sectors, including in the publishing sector in which I have 11 years’ worth of previous in-house experience.   I’m now able to use the experience I gained to ensure I can give advice on issues that really matter to the client".

In her spare time: :  Jo’s spare time is mainly taken up entertaining her rather energetic 7 year old but when she gets the chance she enjoys plenty of fresh air, good food and wine and a healthy dose of exercise- whether up a mountain, on a bike, out running in the woods or swimming in the sea or a lake”.
