The fund backs growing, entrepreneurial companies and supports their growth strategies, which often includes growing by acquisition. Rockpool was recognised as ‘PE House of the Year: Small Cap’ at the Private Equity Awards 2025.

Further, our track record of supporting entrepreneurial businesses (as well as being one ourselves) helps us work smoothly with the management teams of those portfolio companies and deliver advice and support they can relate to and rely on.

We have helped Rockpool’s portfolio companies with several acquisitions, with more in the pipeline. These transactions have helped grow the companies rapidly as well as delivering crucial complementary service offerings to allow them to serve a wider base of customers more effectively.

 

Recent examples include supporting 2i Testing with their strategic acquisition of the UK division of Planit Software Testing to create the UK’s largest pure-play quality assurance business, and Communicate with their acquisition of Blaze Networks to grow and enhance their cybersecurity and IT network solutions offering.

 

We have also assisted with a wide range legal work following on from those acquisitions, including delivering compliant intra-group arrangements and employment advice to make sure everything runs smoothly in the enlarged corporate groups that have been formed.
