Somerset family businesses Welch Hire Limited and Bridgwater Tankwash Limited have been acquired by Abbey Logistics.
The takeover of Welch Hire extends Wirral-based Abbey's network coverage with the addition of 48 bulk liquid road tankers and 13 tractor units. Welch, which is headquartered in Bridgwater, is well-known in the bulk liquid food and animal feed markets in both the UK and Europe. The Welch team will bring unrivalled knowledge of this specialist market to the Abbey business.
